D

Devotion. I looked up the definition to the word on numerous sites. Most of them had the same meanings just listed in different ways. This was what I felt was the best definition.

  1. great love, admiration or loyalty
  2. the process of spending a lot of time and energy on an activity
  3. strong religious feelings
  4. religious worships or prayers
I believe that all devotion comes through God. If you are truly devoted to God, all things are possible.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me. Philippians 4:13

Sadly, our devotion can sometimes waiver. It is talked about in the bible that backsliding should be avoided. The Bible would not mention something that couldn't happen. Please check out the article on What Christians Want to Know about backsliding and how to avoid it. I was very impressed with this article and feel that all of us could stand to renew our Daily Devotion.

What makes a futon a futon?

Love one another

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.  ~ Mark 12:30

There is so many different types of Love. The love that we have for our parents all the way to love that we have for our neighbor.  We I saw the opportunity for a guest post on Love I jumped on it.  Without hesitation.  Then I started to think what was I thinking?? What do I know that could be beneficial to others?? God took that challenge and threw me in full force!

My husband and I started reading and participating in the Love Dare. If you haven't heard of it, watch the movie Fireproof! It is a wonderful movie with a great message. I watched the movie and immediately went out to find the book. Each day my husband and I read from it, study and learn. That wouldn't have happened without God's love for our marriage.

Then God used our Pastor to teach me even more. We have been studying many different messages that all lead us back to Love.

1 Corinthians 13:3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Romans 13:8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so must you love one another."

Then you have one of my favorite websites. What Christians Want to Know  Seems whenever I search for something I would stumble upon this site. So of course I started looking around, reading and learning. I signed up for their emails as well.  Every email that has come to me has had at least one article that I needed to hear. What does the Bible Say about Relationships? Bible verses about Fellowship

To truly love as God wants us to is work. It is a blessing. It is an honor. We are to love God first and foremost even above our spouse. And with that -  everything else just falls into place. Love for our spouse, our children and even those who do us wrong. While researching, I found where someone said that the only way to have more love is to have a closer relationship with God who is love. How true is that!

My family and I were saved on July 1st of this year.  I am living proof that turning your life over to him, loving God above all else and accepting him as your Lord and Savior ~ brings more love into your life <3

C

Compassion ~  a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

When I sat down to think of today's letter....Compassion came to mind very quickly. It is something that many choose not to express but surely should. I believe that all of us are quite capable of true compassion.

John 13:34 states: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

If we are following God's word, then we are showing compassion to others. Loving our neighbor's as God loves us. No one human is perfect and that includes me. But I certainly hope that when people look into my life they see compassion.  By my words, yes, but more so by my actions. I know when I look into my boys' eyes...I see compassion, true and loving.

B

Time get away from you? It sure does me. Seems like there is never enough time in the day let alone the week to get even half the things done. But what can you do? ....the best you can do .... that is all anyone can really ask :)

Today is brought to you by the letter .....

B in my world stands for several things but for today we going to say BLESSED! Vicki always says, "To Blessed to be Stressed!" So true! I am blessed beyond belief.  I wake up each day. I have a beautiful family and God's Grace.  I am saved and Heaven is my reward. What else could I need?

We have lots of wants that are luxuries. Cable tv, eating out at McDonald's. Those are not necessary - fun but not needed to promote our love for God and sustain life.

How are you blessed? Another day with a loved one you thought lost? To be able to see the sun every day knowing that there are those that can't? There is so many reasons to consider yourself blessed.  I hope you take the time to think of those things. To thank God every day when you wake up. To thank God for the people in your life.  Be thankful.

To Blessed to be Stressed!

(Matthew 5:3-11) "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. {4}
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. {5} Blessed are the meek, for
they will inherit the earth. {6} Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled. {7} Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. {8}
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. {9} Blessed are the peacemakers, for
they will be called sons of God. {10} Blessed are those who are persecuted because of
righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. {11} "Blessed are you when people
insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

(Matthew 13:16) But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they
hear.

A

So when I started blogging in January, it wasn't about any one thing. I knew that God had a plan for me and everyone else and wanted to just throw myself out into the blogging world.  I started with the 100 days of photos.  100 blog post about me and mine.  You can see the original post here. I had fun with it and it truly helped me stay engaged.  I started looking forward to each day and what memory I could bring to the surface.  With both my Dad and Grandpa passing away last year, I really felt drawn to going through memories.

This year hasn't been easy but it certainly hasn't been anything like 2011.  I spent more time in hospitals and such than I ever care to remember in 2011.  2012 has been about getting back on track.  Not to say there hasn't been set backs.  Times that draw me right back to last year. To everything that happened.  But I continue to try and remember the good.  The fun that was had.  I enjoyed the 100 post about pictures so much that I have been searching for something similar to focus on....and then it was emailed right to me :) How lucky is that!

Another blogger's email that I get pointed me in that direction. Not trying to copy this blogger but I like the direction it was going.  Sometime to relate to, something to work off of as it were. And as I type this, well another idea comes to mind after I finish this one :) Yay for me!

SO! Today is "A" day, and the next post will be "B" day...and so on :)

Today is "A" Day.....Awe: (Noun): an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc., produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful, or the like: in awe of God; in awe of great political figures. (Verb) to inspire with awe.

Just so it is known...to be in awe of great political figures did not come from me ;) I blame dictionary.com for that one.  But to be in awe of God...most definitely.  I am in constant awe of what He does.  Each day that I wake up is a miracle as we not are promised tomorrow. There is no exact wording of this in the bible but while researching for this post I did find several that state this in not so many words. James 4:14 / Psalm 103:13-17 or Matthew 6:34

And while looking this up, I came across an article on What Christians Want to know.com that talks about the promises of God. So see, He really does have his own plan.  As I set out to write about the awe that I feel daily, I was thinking kids, love of my life and God, he pointed me in so many different directions and I was able to learn from His word.  I truly stand in AWE of God <3

Memories........

When I started blogging I had no idea what I was getting myself into; I had no expectations of what I would do or even if I would enjoy it.  I certainly have come to love it though; more than I thought possible.

The title of my blog: God has a plan for ALL of us!....it really is to remind me. To remind me everyday that there is a wonderful world out there, to remind me that we are all loved by God and that no matter where we are in life ~ we have a purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

We are not to always understand to or to know. He knows and we are to have the faith that is enough.  My family and I were saved on July 1st of this year.  But my blog, it's name, well that came about in January.  Did I know then that we would be saved by the summer? Of course not! But like Jeremiah said... God knows!
